John Townsend Center Table

Marble-top center table in the manner of John Townsend with blocked and serpentine aprons on all sides, four carved knees, and open-talon ball and claw feet. Part of the Master Craftsmen series.

Massachusetts Whist Table

A diminutive gaming table with turreted front corners, pad feet, and a single central drawer.  The top opens to reveal a felt playing surface with pockets for counters. A fly leg supports the open top.

A Hepplewhite design by John Townsend.  Mahogany with shaded holly fan, flute, bellflower, cuff, and string inlays.  Fly legs supports the open top.

Affleck Pembroke Table

An elegantly detailed Rococo design with Marlborough feet, serpentine stretchers, and a serpentine top.  Carved gadrooning on the apron and rope turning on the molded legs.

A small oval drop leaf table after the Federal-era original by John Townsend.  Square tapered legs, one curved, cockbeaded drawer, and a crisp molded table edge.  Townsend made these with and without inlay.

Hepplewhite Tip-Top Stand

A delicate Federal-era design with gracefully tapered, curved legs ending in fine spade feet.  Deeply profiled urn-shaped and tapered pillar center turning, and a light oval tip top. Originally in mahogany, but available in tiger maple, cherry (shown), or walnut.

The scalloped top favored in the Connecticut River Valley with a beveled tabletop edge.  The turning features a compact urn profile with a long, delicate, tapered pillar. The top is off set by a stable stance to the legs.

Massachusetts Tip-Top Stand

A handsome North Shore design with urn-turned pedestal, finely shaped legs, and an oval top that tips.  This example has a  high  level of detail for a diminutive table.

A refined Newport candlestand with a  stately tapered column.  The contoured legs show the distinctive, flowing Newport profile.  The circular top has a molded edge and is dished from the solid. This stand exemplifies Newport's penchant for refined elegance even in small pieces.

Queen Anne Dining Table

The traditional New England drop-leaf dining table in the Queen Anne style, with scalloped aprons, cabriole legs, and pad feet. Shown in mahogany, also available in maple or cherry.

William and Mary Dining Table

An ample gate-leg dining table in the William and Mary style with bold turned legs and stretchers, and a long drawer in one end.


All measurements are maximum sizes, including finials, moldings,
and feet, and are rounded up to the next half-inch.
